Meet the Optometrist
C. Wade Hyatt III, OD
Dr. Hyatt hails from Guntersville, a small town in northern Alabama. He spent his undergraduate years at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in 1988. He then went directly to the University Of Alabama School Of Optometry, also in Birmingham. Four years later, he received his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and then completed a one-year residency program at The Eye Foundation in Orlando, Florida. This program was a concentrated training program dealing exclusively with complex medical and surgical eye care. He moved to Nashville from Orlando in 1993 and entered into private practice in December of the same year.
Dr. Hyatt’s clinical interest are glaucoma, dry eye disease and scleral and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Hyatt is a member of the following organizations:
• American Optometric Association
• Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians
• Middle Tennessee Optometric Society
• Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry
Dr. Hyatt lives with his wife, Ginger, and his three sons (Sam, John and Will) in south Nashville. They are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church where Dr. Hyatt serves as an elder. When he is not at the office conquering eye problems, you can find him spending time with Ginger and the boys.
Dale Martin, OD
Dr. Martin is a native Nashvillian and graduated from Hume-Fogg Academic high school right in the middle of downtown. He attended Auburn University and received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2009. After this he went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013. Shortly thereafter he returned home to Middle Tennessee and joined Cheatham Eye Care.
Dr. Martin is a member of the following organizations:

• Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (Board of Trustees)
• Middle Tennessee Optometric Society (Past President)
Dr. Martin enjoys traveling outside of the office and has completed medical mission trips to Thailand, Mexico, Peru and Nicaragua. He currently lives in the Nations area of West Nashville.
Dr. Marianne Johnson, OD
Dr. Johnson is from Huntsville, Alabama. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University. She continued her graduate studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. After receiving her Doctorate in Optometry, Dr. Johnson relocated to Lexington, KY, for a residency program with concentration in Ocular Disease and Low Vision Rehabilitation.
Dr. Johnson is able to identify and treat a range of conditions and disorders that affect the eyes and their related structures. She has a particular interest in the management of dry eyes, glaucoma, and general medical optometric care. Alongside our team, she personalizes treatment by considering therapeutic options including medications, laser procedures, or surgical interventions. Her passion to provide excellent service for our patients drives her to continually learn about advancements in optometric science.
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson enjoys quality time with family and friends. She loves being outdoors, staying active, reading books, and practicing hospitality. She strives to use her talents and resources to serve others. She volunteers with medical and nonprofit organizations both locally and outside the country.
